The Big Peeping Tom

While I was commenting at David Brin's
blogspot, he appeared ignorant of all this. I've
known about it for years, but I'm assuming many
others don't. That's why I'm posting the following...

If the NY Times is to be believed, the National
Security Agency engages in “some eavesdropping
inside the country,” There are hundreds of
sources that prove the intelligence services have
been operating similar programs for decades.

Some officials described the program as a large
data mining operation, the Times said, and
described it as much larger than the White House
has acknowledged.
