The disappearing political machine

We take it for granted that political parties
are vital to modern political life. They have
shaped representative democracies since the late
19th century. Yet, their prospects are not bright
in today’s large democracies. In fact, these
powerful political machines may soon disappear.

Of course many will disagree, wrapped as tightly
as they are to one political view or other.

I don't.

You probably heard this here first.

See what I mean?
"The debate here is not between Democrats and
Republicans but between those who favor
regulating and those who don't," Ney said at last
week's hearing. "I'm supportive along the lines
of not regulating."
